Joshua Wilson, an up-and-coming movie star, is turned off by the idea of marriage. His Oscar-winning smile and breakout role in the summer’s hottest romantic comedy bring in enough attention to satisfy Joshua’s cravings for the spotlight – not to mention the never-ending supply of willing women.
Joey Mitchell is down in the dumps after finding out that her fiancé cheated on her with her best friend, and is living at home with her parents until she can get back on her feet. Without Joey’s knowledge, her overbearing and neurotic mother submits an application for her to appear on the reality show, Married Blind. When the producers surprise her with the news that they have cast her, Joey wants nothing to do with the show but agrees to participate because, at this point in her life, she really has nothing to lose.
Lights, camera, action… Welcome to another season of Married Blind. Contestants are about to take the plunge, but only one couple will come out of the house winners!

I had such high hopes for this story. I loved the blurb, it sounded cute and fun. The cover was gorgeous. And in spite of the flaws (in my opinion) I really liked the characters. The prologue definitely drew me into the story. But after that, that's where it went downhill for me. I like a book with lots of dialogue and witty conversations between the characters. This book had very little actual words spoken "out loud" by the characters. Yes, they did speak to each other, but it was minimalistic at best. Most of the story was told through the characters thoughts.
The length of book could have been cut in half with all the times they repeated things over and over again in their thoughts. Joey knows she's not good enough, knows Josh is leaving after the show, but he's her big time star crush...... Josh is only there to draw attention to his charity (which is only mentioned twice), no sex, make it look good for the cameras, but he's starting to have feelings for Joey....... I found myself skipping large parts because it was just repeating the same mantra over and over.
I think the author is a major fan of Big Brother. The house, yard, competitions, and general outline of the "show" was taken directly from episodes of the series.
It didn't feel very original to me. I've read better books based on reality tv.
And don't even get me started on the ending. I hate cliffhangers. No HEA. Just more questions. And I can find no information on whether there is going to be a second book. Definitely will not be looking for one.

Blind Reality edition by Heidi McLaughlin Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
It's amazing what Heidi accomplished with Blind Reality. I went through it without even knowing what it was about and WOW what an amazing story she created. It's a fresh story with something new to think about.
I love this book so much. It's incredible how the author made me feel a part of the story. I felt like I was Joey, the main character and oh my! My heart got broken more times than I can count, but I felt truly happy many times as well. It's fantastic how the story managed to make me feel so many feelings, at a moment I was on top of the world but right after I was being crushed by its weight. The way the author makes descriptions of Joey and Joshua's feelings it's truly unbelievable, i't's like I'm one of them.
The story takes place on a reality show, Married Blind, that involves characters that will play in the show, being the main ones Joey, a normal girl and Joshua, a Hollywood celebrity. The way the both of them ended up there it's hilarious, but through the book it feels like the ended up in the reality because of fate. They are meant to be together.
The story develops in three months, that's how long the show goes. At the end one of the couples that married blind will be named as winners. All the couples will compete weekly for prizes, being one of them the famous master bedroom. It's so awesome to see a story of this type, never have I ever read something like this, and it's truly amazing.
As the time passes, we learn new things about Joey and Joshua, who may I recall, had a blind marriage. We discover how one completes the other. Their relationship evolves from a contract with the show to a real one, and it's so sweet, and romantic, and of course heartbreaking how they did it. At one time they go slow, super slow, but then something happens and makes them go wild, and proclaim each other love. And they fight so hard with their emotions and feelings, the way they feel for each other. Their love is kind, sweet, gentle, but it's also wild and crazy.
I have to mention to, the turns and twists the story had. Besides mixing different kind of people, the show is always throwing them a difficulty and they have to deal with it, to move forward. The book had twists I never expected, but they were so freaking awesome!
The book is fun too, I laughed so hard with some scenes, I cried because of laughter. I also cried because of sadness but it's truly worth it. I cannot wait to read this book again.
Heidi wrote a beautiful book about second chances, and finding love in no ordinary way. So go read this book now! My rate is 5 stars but this five stars doesn't make justice on how excellent Blind Reality is.
I am not a fan of reality TV. I would rather clean my bathroom then watch it. With that being said you don’t have to like reality TV to read this book. I LOVED the concept and the storyline. It was nothing like anything Heidi every wrote before. Heidi drew me in with each passing page, wanting to know what happened next on Married Blind, while still being invested in Joey and Joshua’s story.
I absolutely adored Joey and Josh. They had a chemistry that was evident from their first kiss. But the chemistry was beyond the bedroom. They just clicked from the beginning and were like peas in a pod or ying and yang. They meshed together perfectly.
The story was full of surprises and kept you on your toes. You never knew what stunt the producers were going to pull next for ratings. Just when you thought things were perfect; BAM!! Another shocking surprise; the biggest one being the ending.
Heidi nailed this story and I can’t wait to read more.
